AVimmerse Studio
What We Believe
Immersive technology is most powerful when it is:
-
Designed around people, not platforms.
-
Grounded in real-world use, not speculation.
-
Built with clarity before complexity.
-
Measured by impact, not novelty.
Technology is a tool, a means of communication.
When used thoughtfully, it can help people understand places, stories, systems, and each other in deeper ways.
STUDIO
AVimmerse is a creative technology studio working at the intersection of heritage, education, and immersive media
We design and deliver XR, interactive, and spatial experiences across education, training, heritage, and public engagement, combining storytelling, human-centred design, and technical rigour.
We don’t build for novelty or hype.
We build experiences that are meaningful, grounded, and purposeful.

What the Studio Does
AVimmerse works across immersive design, storytelling, and applied technology to bring ideas into the world clearly and responsibly.
The studio works across three overlapping areas:

Aerial documentation — heritage sites
Immersive Design & Development
We design and build XR and interactive experiences that are:
-
Clear in purpose.
-
Appropriate in scope.
-
Sustainable to maintain.
From concept to prototype to delivery, we focus on doing the right amount of technology, not the most possible.
Discovery & Strategic Direction
Many projects fail before they begin, not because the idea is bad, but because it has not been properly shaped.
We help teams:
-
Clarify what they are really trying to achieve.
-
Define audiences and success criteria.
-
Decide whether XR is the right solution.
-
Identify the smallest viable path forward.
This work often happens before any build begins.
Teaching, Training & Knowledge Transfer
AVimmerse also operates as a teaching studio, delivering:
-
XR training and workshops.
-
Skills bootcamps.
-
Curriculum-aligned immersive education.
-
Talks and practitioner-led sessions.
-
We believe studios should share knowledge, not gatekeep it.

Heritage & place-based work
Every project begins with the same core questions:
-
Who is this for?
-
What problem are we solving?
-
What does success look like?
-
What constraints matter?
-
What can we test early?
We prioritise:
-
Early prototyping.
-
Plain-language communication.
-
Honest conversations about scope and risk.
-
Collaboration over spectacle
This approach allows ideas to be shaped carefully before time and budget are committed.

From Insight to Impact
Insight only matters if it leads somewhere.
AVimmerse works across desk-based thinking, fieldwork, and production, moving ideas from concept to real-world application.
AVimmerse’s work spans:
-
Immersive training and simulation.
-
XR education and skills development.
-
Heritage and place-based storytelling.
-
Public engagement and cultural projects.
-
Applied research and experimental pilots.
Each project is different, but the underlying process stays consistent:
clarity first, technology second.
Teaching, Training & Knowledge Transfer
AVimmerse also operates as a teaching and training studio.
Founder Keith Myers has taught immersive production, XR design, and digital storytelling at institutions including:
-
The University of Manchester.
-
Liverpool John Moores University.
-
Oxford University (Digital Twins course).
-
Professional training and innovation programmes, including as the Lead Unity instructor at the UK's first Unity Centre of Excellence.
This work has supported:
-
Students.
-
Career changers.
-
Professionals
-
Organisations new to XR
We believe studios should share knowledge, not gatekeep it.

Applied Technology & Methods
Our practice draws on a wide range of tools and methods, including:
-
Game engines.
-
Drone capture and photogrammetry.
-
360 film.
-
LiDAR and spatial data.
-
XR platforms and interactive systems.
These technologies are always used in service of the experience, not as ends in themselves.

Heritage, Place & Connection

Across the UK, there is a deep richness of history beneath our feet.
When people are given the opportunity to engage with the stories of place, thoughtfully and accessibly, something shifts.
They begin to understand where they are, and how they belong.
Much of AVimmerse’s work explores heritage as a shared, participatory experience, using technology to support curiosity, connection, and community.

The XR Discovery Sprint
For early-stage ideas, AVimmerse offers a short, structured engagement called the XR Discovery Sprint.
The XR Discovery Sprint helps teams:
-
Stress-test an idea.
-
Define scope and feasibility.
-
Produce a clear next-step plan.
-
Create material suitable for funding, commissioning, or internal sign-off.
The Sprint is particularly suited to:
-
Organisations new to XR.
-
Early project concepts.
-
Teams seeking clarity before committing budget.
-
Funding, commissioning, or pilot preparation.
It is about direction, not delivery.
