Deeper Underground

The Client

Deeper Underground was developed by AVimmerse as part of our commitment to hands on game production and talent development. The project brought together artists, designers and programmers to create a fully playable PC game, combining systems design, narrative and gameplay mechanics.

Players can download and play the game via Steam.

PORTFOLIO

The Project

Deeper Underground began life as a winning game jam concept and evolved into a post apocalyptic survival experience set beneath a nuclear devastated London.

Players must scavenge, build and survive while navigating social influence, conflict and scarce resources. The game explores themes of survival, power and moral choice, using gameplay systems to reflect life under constant pressure.

As the project grew, AVimmerse expanded the original prototype into a deeper experience with enhanced mechanics, storytelling and progression, while maintaining the fast iteration mindset of its game jam origins.

This project reflects our wider approach to game and interactive production, blending creative direction with technical delivery. You can learn more about how we work on interactive projects in our Studio.

The Developer Team

As part of our skills and talent development programme, a multidisciplinary developer team was selected through a competitive process and supported by AVimmerse throughout production.

The video below features the team discussing their roles, challenges and what it was like to collaborate on a live game project, from early design through to delivery.

What We Did

AVimmerse led the full production of Deeper Underground, including:

  • Game design and systems development.

  • Unity based PC game production.

  • Art direction and asset integration.

  • Narrative design and gameplay progression.

  • Team mentoring and project oversight.

This hands on approach allowed emerging talent to work within a professional production pipeline while delivering a complete, playable game.
